Tips for a CV that gets interviews
- Lead with results. "Cut month-end closing from 6 days to 3" says more than "Responsible for accounts".
- Match the job advert. Use the same words for skills and tools that the employer uses, so you pass keyword filters.
- Keep it short. One page for early careers, two at most for experienced people.
- Use a professional email. Your name at Gmail or Outlook is fine; old nicknames are not.
- Check every detail. A wrong phone number or a spelling mistake can cost you the call.
Common questions
Is the CV builder really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark on your CV and no limit on how many CVs you make or download.
Where is my information stored?
Only in your own browser on this device. Nothing you type or upload is sent to us or anyone else. If you clear your browser data or switch devices, your CV will not be there, so keep the PDF you download.
How do I save my CV as a PDF?
Press "Download PDF". In the print window that opens, set the destination to "Save as PDF" and turn off "Headers and footers", then save. On an iPhone, use Share and then Save to Files; on Android, choose "Save as PDF" as the printer.
Should I add a photo to my CV?
Many employers in Pakistan and the Gulf expect a photo; most employers in the UK, Europe and North America prefer CVs without one. The photo is optional, so add it only where it is expected.
How long should my CV be?
One page is best for students and people with less than five years of experience. Two pages is fine for experienced professionals. The page count under the preview shows you how long yours is.
